Blount County Job Signing Day

Each year, those high school students who took career and technical education (CTE) courses on a career pathway, earned an industry certification in school, or participated in work-based Learning (WBL) are honored at the Blount County Job Signing Day. Last year, Students took positions in welding, advanced manufacturing, coding, electrical apprenticeships, aquatics manager, rigging technicians and nursing assistants.

Workforce Committees

Quarterly meetings are held with all Blount County, Maryville and Alcoa city schools and Pellissippi State, along with leaders in advanced manufacturing, construction, IT and healthcare to review career pathways for high school students. These meetings also make sure that what’s being taught is beneficial to the workforce needs of the local businesses. Contact Jessica Belitz to join these discussions.
